Winners & Losers In Week 4 EPL Review For 2020-2021season

It was a fantastic weekend with so many unbelievable scorelines for both fans and players. Let’s see what we have got on our week 4 EPL review as this preceded final day of transfer windows and international break. The week started with Leicester city at the top of the table on goal difference ahead of Liverpool in second and Everton at third. All three teams having taken maximum points from their opening 3 fixtures.

A beautiful debut for Ben Chidwell

Chelsea opened the Week’s fixture at Stanford Bridge against Wilfred Zaha led Crystal Palace. After a first half 0-0 draw, debutant, Ben Chidwell opened the game with a wonderful shot from inside the box. The Blues new boy who was making his English Premier League debut for Chelsea was available again to deliver a fine cross that was guided into the back of the net by Zouma.

Chelsea who were completely dominant over Crystal Palace finished the game with a 4-0 victory over Roy Hogson’s men and Chelsea moved up the table to 7th with 7 points after 4 games.

Ancelotti and Everton’s EPL move

Everton continued their fine form to the season with a 4-2 win over Brighton. Ancelotti’s men are currently leading on the table with 12 points from 4 games and a +7 goal difference. Dominic Calvert-Lewin can’t stop scoring and he was the first to score in this game. 2 goals from James Rodriguez and Yerry Mina ensures Everton took all 3 points from the match.

Our week 4 EPL review first surprised package came from the Leeds – Manchester City game. Marcelo Bielsa were able to deny injury hit Man City all 3 points through a Rodrigo equalizer in the 59th minute to cancel Raheem Sterling’s opener. City played this match with no recognizable forward as Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus are sidelined.

Burnley’s yet to win

Burnley winless run was stretched three this season by Newcastle United who thrashed them 3-1, at St James park.Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson were responsible for Steve Bruce men leaving St James park with the win.

A 2-0 win over West Ham would have been enough to return Leicester to the top of the league but David Moyes came to halt their surge to the top of the English Premier League. Away from home, West Ham handed Leicester their first defeat with a 3-0 emphatic win over their Foxes.

Southampton saw off EPL newcomers. West Brom with a 2-0 win at St Mary’s stadium. Meanwhile, Arsenal handed Sheffied a 2-1 win to ensure Sheffied United remain winless in this campaign. Although there’s a positive to take home from this game for Sheffield as they scored their first goal of the EPL 2020-2021 season.

Wolves came out victorious against Scot Parker’s Fulham side. A 1-0 win guaranteed Wolves earned their second win of the season while on the other hand, Fulham have only managed to get a point from 4 games.

Liverpool didn’t allow Man United walk alone

Mourinho and Harry revisited Man after their last defeat at Old Trafford. The match started off bright with Bruno Fernandez opening the scoring from the penalty spot. It took 2 minutes for Tottenham to level up and things went from bad to worst as Martial was sent off for a foul that shouldn’t be worth the red card. At the end of half time, Spurs were 4-1 up. The match ended 6-1, leaving Man United with 3 points from their first 3 games of the season.

Liverpool’s fine form was brought to an end hours later by a brilliant Aston Villa side. Missing Sane Mane and Allison, J├╝rgen Klopp brought in Jota and Adrian into the first 11. Aston Villa ran riot over their visitors and left them with a 7-2 scoreline at the end of 90 minutes. The Reds have been arrogant lately after winning their first EPL title in 30 years, but this defeat has brought them back to earth.
